This book is the first in a series of Karam’s interventions with pre-existing artist books. The Medardo Rosso: Impressions in Wax and Bronze 1882-1906, was the publication accompanying the 1989 Tokyo exhibition of the Italian 1920’s sculptor. In dialogue with the sepia/monochromatic images of Rosso’s figurative sculptures, Karam painted bold colors and abstract forms. Fragments of what he would later term the Archaic Procession formed part of his intervention.
